I'm confused. If you're volunteering, aren't they supposed to pay for your expenses? This doesn't sound fair.
Volunteer normally are sponsored by sponsors. Rite? And go Namibia to runaway? =p
Hey, you can make a petition in your place!
JC - Yea, but I'm not sure how volunteering works. In this case, I'll have to pay. Wanna know why?
Cometh - Namibia has got the Noah's Ark programme. Well if they had an archaeological excavation programme in another place then maybe I'd consider that :)
Runaway is just well...I'm the RunawayCat :P
宝茹 - Wow a petition. To who? :P
Hmm, I don't know. Considering the cost of living in third world countries, the price tag seems awfully high.
Still, if you really want to go, maybe you can get a corporation to sponsor you.
Hmm how do you do that? I don't think it's common for people here to get a corporation to sponsor them unless that corporation is their dad's. Or mom's for that matter.
And I've never heard of the program you joined where you go to Japan for free here too.
Maybe things are just plain lousy here.
Doesn't change the fact that I STILL WANT to go! :P
To be honest, it's a long shot. But you can try approaching various corporations and ask them to sponsor part of your trip. In return, you can offer to blog about them constantly and wear clothes with their logos for your whole trip.
They can then use the photos to show the world that they supported a humanitarian mission in Africa. Yay!
Hmm...that's actually a good idea! Hmm...hmm...
PETA can help probably. Or your local school, government. Make some noise about the cause, and maybe you could get media to be interested. :)
Then corporations will get with the commotion. :)
