Who owns the fish?

I saw this riddle in someone's profile:

1. In a street there are five houses, painted five different colours.

2. In each house lives a person of different nationality.

3. These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage, smoke a different brand of cigar and keep a different pet.

1. The Brit lives in a red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The Green house is on the left of the White house.
5. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the centre house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbour who drinks water.

I think I just solved it. So I'm the world's 2%? Maybe in 1899 haha. You try to solve it. I'm not going to tell you the answer just yet. And oh, please don't Google for the answer. Google doesn't give you answers. Neko-chan does. (Damn generator)

Maybe 98% of the population have no patience to go through all the clues :-P

When do I get to check my answer? :D

Haha~~ this is fun! You can add more variables to make it even more fun! :P :P

Happy New Year! :D

JC - You're right. And my guess is you're one of the 98% :)

lyn - You're answer will probably be right. You can't have an answer that's wrong in this case (I think) Anyway, here's mine: German

KM - If I add more variables I might only confuse everyone and myself :P
Happy 2008!

well 2% of the world is roughly 120M people, not that few if you think about it.

Especially a large percentage of the 98% might not be stupid at all but just don't know English enough to understand this riddle, or just plain can't read because of poverty.

Suddenly, being part of the 2% doesn't mean much at all. Just like Mensa. I bet this is a German propaganda to make us all smoke like Hitler.

I still think Cometh owns the fish! :P

philos - 120M people in the late 19th century or now? Hey wait...I just realized it said early 19th century. Einstein wasn't even born yet! Either the one who put this up in the internet made a mistake or this is really a propaganda after all, by god knows who.

Smoke like Hitler?

CY - Ok ok, a lot of people own fishes.
